Sir Frank Dicksee - La Belle Dame Sans M

Searching For Stuff No-one Seems To Have

I was introduced to Der Zibet/Issay & Dead End/Morrie/Creature Creature through Buck-Tick, but I have noticed there seems to be a scarcity of information on the internet. Aside from a few translated interviews, I found nothing. Lyrics translations would be nice (sadly,I don't know Japanese & my comp doesn't show any Asian scripts), but I found them nigh impossible to find. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right places? Maybe I'm really forking blind?

*le sigh* I guess I'll just go back to wondering how many licks it takes to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop.

William Bouguereau - Êtude Tete de Jeune

Another Poem

Yep, just another poem I have laying around.

Loss And Gain
By: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882)

When I compare
What I have lost with what I have gained,
What I have missed with what attained,
Little room do I find for pride.

I am aware
How many days have been idly spent;
How like an arrow the good intent
Has fallen short or been turned aside.

But who shall dare
To measure loss and gain in this wise?
Defeat may be victory in disguise;
The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide.

Alphonse Mucha - Moët & Chandon Cremant

Poetry

For anyone who may stumble on this page... a favorite poem:

Bedouin Song
By: Bayard Taylor (1825-1878)

From the Desert I come to thee
On a stallion shod with fire;
And the winds are left behind
In the speed of my desire.
Under thy window I stand,
And the midnight hears my cry:
I love thee, I love but thee,
With a love that shall not die

Till the sun grows cold,
And the stars are old,
And the leaves of the Judgment Book Unfold!

Look from thy window and see
My passion and my pain;
I lie on the sands below,
And I faint in thy disdain.
Let the night-winds touch thy brow
With the heat of my burning sigh,
And melt thee to hear the vow
Of a love that shall not die

Till the sun grows cold,
And the stars are old,
And the leaves of the Judgment Book Unfold!

My steps are nightly driven,
By the fever in my breast,
To hear from thy lattice breathed
The word that shall give me rest.
Open the door of thy heart,
And open thy chamber door,
And my kisses shall teach thy lips
The love that shall fade no more

Till the sun grows cold,
And the stars are old,
And the leaves of the Judgment Book Unfold!

I might post more favorites sometime.
